'Taking a Thread for a Walk: The Art of Doodling in Stitch'

Known for her use of bold, colourful embroidery with a tale to tell, join Kathleen Murphy of Murgatroyd & Bean as she introduces you to the joy of doodling in stitch.
Using her free-form approach to embroidery you will work towards a contemporary stitched sampler. Along the way you will explore families of stitch & thread variation as a means of creating your own stories in thread, pattern & colour.

'An Afternoon of Watercolour & Collage'
2pm-5pm £25 per person

In this afternoon session you will concentrate on painting spoons, an iconic everyday object, using water colour and vintage papers.
Guidance will be given in an easy watercolour technique that can be applied to painting other everyday objects. You will take home your own framed watercolour and collage picture.

Create a textile token with a treasured message, a gentle reminder, a note to self. Your own fabric memento to accompany you on your journey.
Join Christine Kelly of ‘Gentlework’ for this one day workshop where she will help you hand stitch your token using precious vintage fabrics.
Most materials will be provided, but please bring your sewing kit and any personal textile treasures that you would like to include in your work.
Some previous hand stitch experience would be useful.
